November 16th, 2014
JourneyCare has been recognized by the Chicago Tribune as one of Top 100 Workplaces for 2014 in its annual survey of Chicago-area employers. The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback received through a multi-question independent survey. For over 30 years, JourneyCare has provided pain and symptom management and end-of-life expertise to young and old facing advanced illness. The largest community-based nonprofit palliative and end of life care provider in the Chicago area, JourneyCare serves thousands of patients and families throughout McHenry, Lake, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Boone, Winnebago, DeKalb and Will counties each year.“We are extremely honored to be named one of the Top 100 Workplaces,” said Sarah Bealles, JourneyCare President and CEO. “This recognition is especially meaningful, as it truly reflects the pride and commitment that our JourneyCare team has in providing exceptional care to our patients and families.”Employees were asked to complete a confidential survey on a variety of workplace satisfaction issues, and those results were benchmarked against the responses of all participating companies. They were asked to assess JourneyCare’s organizational health—its direction, ability to execute and their connection to JourneyCare. Employees were also asked to assess their own jobs—their work, managers, compensation and benefits. The Chicago Tribune published the complete list of Top Workplaces on November 14.
