JourneyCare is proud to announce that President and CEO Kimberly Hobson has been named to the Illinois Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (IL-HPCO) Board of Directors. She was installed on October 28 and will serve until Fall 2022.
“I am honored to be a part of this valuable organization that is dedicated to improving and expanding hospice and palliative care across Illinois as our nation’s healthcare landscape continues to evolve,” Hobson said. “In this role, I look forward to collaborating with fellow industry leaders to strengthen the care and programs available to patients and families in our communities.”
IL-HPCO is the leading state organization committed to promoting and enhancing palliative and end-of-life care in the state of Illinois through education, advocacy, strategic partnerships and technical and supportive services. Hobson joins the Board as the leader of JourneyCare, Illinois’ largest nonprofit hospice and palliative care organization. She has held this role since September 2019 and has previously served as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer and as Board of Directors vice-chair.
With an extensive healthcare background of over 20 years, Hobson has held several leadership roles within University of Chicago, Advocate Health Care, Mercy Hospital and Humana Health Plan. She has a proven record in successfully developing strategic affiliations, leading clinical expansions, building regional health consortiums, program development, operations, managed care contract negotiations and achieving financial growth and performance.
Hobson earned her Master of Business Administration from Purdue University and is also a graduate of the Chicago Management Institute at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. “Kimberly exemplifies the leadership, innovation and talents needed in this challenging time in healthcare,” says IL-HPCO Executive Director Pamela Cramer. “We know that she will not disappoint.”
