FLIGHTLESS HONOR FLIGHT UPDATE
To all who were planning to attend this Sunday’s Flightless Honor Flight, we deeply regret informing you that it has been canceled.
Based upon the determination of the Centers for Disease Control that “older adults and persons with underlying health conditions are considered to be at increased risk for severe illness and complications from COVID-19,” we could not risk exposing the nearly 70 registered veterans between the ages of 70 and 105 to this illness.
These American heroes are too precious.
The three partners in this project – JourneyCare, Lake County Honor Flight and Lake Zurich Community Unit District 95 Schools – are all committed to rescheduling the Flightless Honor Flight after the risk of serious illness is reduced. The veterans and families who registered for the March 15 event will be the first to receive an invitation to the rescheduled event.
All personally addressed Mail Call letters received will be forwarded to the named veterans within the next 2 weeks.
Please contact Linda Rockwell if you have additional questions at 847-556-1778. Thank you.
