Children and teenagers experience grief differently than adults do, and every child grieves in his or her own way. JourneyCare offers specialized support programs for children and teenagers to help them express their feelings and grow through the grieving process.
We are pleased to offer grief support programs to at no cost.
JourneyCare offers bereavement camps and activities for children and teens who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Participants explore and express their feelings in a safe, supportive and fun environment, led by professional counselors and trained volunteers from JourneyCare.
There is no cost to attend any of our camps, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, community partners and families. All eligible campers are welcome, but please note that space is limited and bus service is not provided. Priority will be given to first-time campers.
Through the RememberU program, children and teens, ages 6-18, and their families realize they are not alone in their grief. With support from JourneyCare’s specially trained counselors, they learn about facing changes now and in the future while sharing memories of their loved ones, finding hope after loss and celebrating their lives together. JourneyCare offers the RememberU program thanks in part the generosity of the Randy Salerno family and the McHenry County Community Foundation. Advance registration is required.
