Who is JourneyCare?
With 40 years of healthcare leadership and expertise, JourneyCare has achieved national recognition for growth, innovation, community partnerships and best practices in caring for adults and children with serious illness. JourneyCare serves 10 counties in the Chicago region and is the largest nonprofit provider of hospice and palliative care in Illinois. The agency also provides services that include: JourneyCare House Calls, Chronic Care Management and JourneyCare Choices – serving patients at all stages of serious illness. JourneyCare is dedicated to enriching lives through expert, compassionate care and empowering patients and families to live with dignity, on their own terms.


What is Project Runway/All Stars?
Project Runway is a reality television series that started on the Bravo TV network, moved to Lifetime and is returning to Bravo in 2019. This show is where aspiring fashion designers compete for a chance to break into the industry. Each week, a designer is eliminated from the competition after exhibiting their work in front of a judges’ panel. Project Runway All Stars features the talented designers – all winners from the Project Runway franchise from across the globe, who compete to be named world champion of the catwalk.


What is Allstars of Project Runway in Chicago?
Allstars of Project Runway is a first-ever Chicago event, which will feature exclusive couture by designers from the hit TV show Project Runway and will raise funds for JourneyCare. It will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Theater on the Lake, 2401 N. Lake Shore Drive, and will feature five former celebrity designers from the TV show and their 2019 collections in a fashion runway show.  The event will also include a live auction and paddle raise auction.  A VIP trunk show will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Waldorf Astoria offering special guests the opportunity to purchase one-of-a kind designs and meet the designers. These designers are coming to town to shine the spotlight on the care of children and adults with serious illness.


Will there be anything extra?
You will be able to join us in a special outside “Cocktail and Cigar Section” to enjoy a drink and cigar.


Why support this event in honor of JourneyCare?
In conjunction with the designers from Project Runway, the JourneyCare Foundation is launching this first-time couture for a cause fashion show event to raise awareness and donations to support the efforts of JourneyCare and its healthcare programs for children and adults with advanced illness. It also recognizes JourneyCare’s 40 years of experience with hospice, palliative and care for patients and families with serious illness throughout the Chicago area. With an administrative center in Glenview, the nonprofit serves patients with serious illness throughout 10 counties in Illinois and also operates five inpatient units.


What is Theater on the Lake?
Located at Fullerton Avenue and Lake Shore Drive, Theater on the Lake is a historic building that offers breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and Chicago’s skyline. Designed in 1913 and constructed in 1920, Theater on the Lake, is a Prairie style structure constructed in brick with sweeping steel arched pavilions throughout. Polishing this existing jewel on Lake Michigan’s shore elevates it to the level of the other major iconic architectural gems.


Will parking be available?
Yes, complimentary valet parking will be provided.


What are the ticket prices?
Ticket prices range from early birds for $200, to a two-night VIP package for $500. All tickets include food and beverages, but attendees must present a valid ID to prove they are 21 or older to purchase alcohol. Tickets are available for this fashion-forward event at: journeycare.org/runway.


What is the Allstars of Project Runway Host Committee?
The Allstars of Project Runway Host Committee is a select group of individuals from across the Chicagoland area who are committed to spreading the word about this event and inviting their friends. They are this event’s ambassadors, helping us with their individual expertise and filing the seats around the runway.
